Michael N. Ruggiero Launches The Card, a New Mystery and Suspense Novel

– A mysterious business card and a woman’s disappearance pull investigator Jacob Steele into a widening search: Where is Marcie Tuttle?

CARMEL, IN, UNITED STATES, October 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Author Michael N. Ruggiero announces the release of The Card, a new standalone mystery and suspense novel that follows an ordinary encounter into a far-reaching investigation involving disappearance, coded clues, technology, and a threat with global consequences.

At the center of The Card is a deceptively simple object. After Frank Miller meets Marcie Tuttle and receives her business card, Marcie disappears. Information hidden on the card raises questions that draw private investigator Jacob Steele into the search and gradually reveal that the disappearance may be connected to something much larger than anyone first imagined.

The novel moves from personal mystery to international suspense as Steele and others follow a trail that reaches across borders and into questions of technology, national security, and an electromagnetic pulse threat. Throughout the story, the central mystery remains intensely personal: Where is Marcie Tuttle, and what did Frank unknowingly become part of?

“With The Card, I wanted to begin with something familiar and seemingly insignificant, then keep widening the question of what that one moment could set in motion. The mystery starts with Marcie Tuttle’s disappearance, but the story asks readers to keep looking beyond what first appears to be true.” said Ruggiero.

The Card marks Ruggiero’s first standalone novel following the completion of the 7th Soul trilogy. The three-book metaphysical thriller series explores destiny, faith, power, sacrifice, emerging technology, and humanity’s relationship with forces it may not fully understand. The trilogy began as a screenplay that earned Top 40 placement in the BlueCat Screenplay Competition among more than 4,000 entries before Ruggiero expanded the concept into three novels.

The trilogy includes 7th Soul, 7th Soul: Apocalypse, and 7th Soul: CaptAIn. In CaptAIn, artificial intelligence becomes part of a larger examination of technology, power, survival, and human decision-making. With AI now at the center of conversations about innovation, security, ethics, and the future, those themes have taken on renewed relevance beyond the page.

While The Card moves into a distinct mystery-and-suspense world, it continues Ruggiero’s interest in technology, unanswered questions, complex characters, and stories that challenge readers to look more closely at what initially appears to be true.

The Card is available beginning October 6, 2026. Readers can learn more about the novel, explore the 7th Soul trilogy, and find purchase options at www.the7thsoul.com.
